Mary Magdalene or Mary of Magdala (original Greek Μαρία ἡ Μαγδαληνή)[3] is described, in the New Testament, as one of the most important women in the movement of Jesus throughout his ministry.[4] Also referred to as the Migdal Eder (Tower of the Flock) by Margaret Starbird

The late 20th and early 21st century has enjoyed the restoration of the New Testament icon and most devoted of apostles, Mary Magdalene as the most prominent patron of women’s preaching and ministry. Mary’s new popularity has grown, in part, from the realization that Mary Magdalene undoubtedly suffered from what many now believe to be a great injustice based on historical defamation of character, perpetrated by emotionally unstable church authorities.

Traditionally, Mary Magdalene was falsely identified as a repentant prostitute, and has been incorrectly depicted in classical art as a so-called sinner, often found weeping and wiping the feet of Jesus with her lovely long hair. Read more of this post
